Iguana/Lion by rlhIllustration Iguana/Lion by rlhIllustration
Graphite pencil on Bristol Board

Another portion of my University final piece. I made a Chimera out of 15 different sections of different animals, this is the very furthest right portion of the whole piece.

Drawn from photographs taken while at the Natural History Museum in London, adapted into the shape of a lion's rear-end and tail (yes, you are looking at a drawing of a scaly lion's bum. Im sorry). The complete animal, created from all of these little pieces of different animals, will have the overall shape of a lion.

(This is not stock imagery. This is my own drawing, which I have spent a lot of time on for my final University project)

I can see depth without extensive use of black and white =3 I'd love to learn that myself.

Well I hope xD if I can endure, my general downside is I don't use any real technique nor do I know anatomy, so all my pictures are in a way luck after a certain amount of perseverance :3

Hehe, well it's been working so far!
I would recommend using reference and studying anatomy and perspective. But to be honest that can get pretty boring and isn't much fun sometimes, so do whatever makes you happy. Your drawings are improving as you go along already so I don't see the harm in doing what you're doing now ^w^

Yes xD since I have a loooot of games and movies and tv I must enjoy art making or I won't do it, so studying anatomy just makes me play games instead D: a blessing and a curse you could say, or I just continue without knowing much xD

Haha, yeah I get distracted quite easily as well, especially while figuring out anatomy and perspectives XD
But you'll pick up things as you go along I'm sure ^w^
