:bulletblue: :pointr: I've come to the realisation that I just need to stop freaking out about everything. In all honesty I have been avoiding dA because I didn't feel like I belonged here any more, I haven't made any of my own art for over a year now, and it just felt that I wasn't supposed to be here if I wasn't contributing anything myself on a regular basis.

But seriously, I'm making myself miserable by pretty much breaking ties with many lovely internet friends who I communicated with through dA, and that is just silly. I have to stop wallowing in my own disappointment at my lack of art production, and actually just talk to you lovely people and give feedback on all of YOUR amazing work!

I doubt that many people will see this but if you do, regardless of whether I knew you well, or only a little, or even if we haven't spoken at all yet, I am genuinely interested in how you are doing! If you want to say about something exciting that's happened, or general life goings on, or if you just want to rant about something, that's absolutely fine! I'm happy to hear about anything and everything, I want to get back into the swing of things here c:

Glad to hear that everything else has been ok c:
Will you just need to rest at home with plenty of painkillers until it passes? :heart:

Everything is going quite well with me too, thanks. Work is a bit stressful at the moment, but my boyfriend and I have settled into our new house now so that's a plus :3

Thank you love. Yeah pretty much. :c They gave me penicillin, bit unfortunately I'm apparently allergic to that as I had a reaction. >< So just have to ride it out now!

That's all good to hear! Sorry to hear that work is stressful for you though :(

Oh no! That's awkward :c
Hope that it wasn't a bad reaction and that you're alright.
I'm apparently allergic to penicillin too, I think it must be quite common.

Thanks!
Yeah, some urgent projects have suddenly come in at work, but hopefully it will calm down again soon.

I'm fine, don't worry! It wasn't a major bad reaction, but it was caught early so idk if it would have got worse if I'd ignored it??? :s But yeah, I think it is common! When the Dr gave it to me the first thing they asked was 'Are you allergic?' And...I'd never had it before so didn't know. D:

Ohh so busy times, those always add stress. :c I have had today off work, one of our busier days...so I'm not sure how everyone is getting on at work x-x But yes I hope it calms down for you soon!
(Stupid dA submitted comment before I had finished, so had to edit my reply lol)

Phew, that's good then. Weird that the allergy is so common though!
I've always been told I am allergic, so either I had a reaction or they did an allergy test when I was very young. At least now they'll know that you're allergic for future reference ^^;

Yeah, it's never much fun. I wasn't expecting it either. My boss has just gone on holiday for a month (apparently that's a normal thing to do in Sweden!) and all of sudden a flurry of illustration requests has come in and she's not there to keep the markets in line! Hopefully once they're finished it will go back to normal again, yeah.

Oh dear, I'm sure it will be a bit of extra work for your colleagues, but it can't be helped. You can't possibly work at the moment, I'm sure they completely understand c:

Interesting indeed! And yeah, at least I don't have to go through it again. |D

Oh wow, I wish I could holiday for a month. XD Hope it calms down for you though anyway, seems like a huge extra load!

Yeah, I'm quite jealous, it would be great to have 4 weeks off in the summer every year! X3

Anyway, I hope that you're feeling better soon c:

Thanks! I actually decided to change to social work. I was doing biology/pre-med before, but due to my depression and anxiety, I finally realized that that's really not a good path for me, at least not right now. My hope is to become a medical social worker, so at least that way I can still work in a hospital setting.

I've had a quick look through the journal entries that I need to catch up on, I've finally read your big announcement. From your journal about it it sounds like working towards becoming a social worker is much less straining on your mental wellbeing, so that's great! It may not have been the original plan, but it sounds like it fits you just as well! :D

The course for becoming a surgeon sounded so demanding, I'm sorry that the whole experience has been so straining on your health :c
It makes sense to keep in a medical setting if that's where you're most interested in being, even of what you become wasn't your original choice of career. As long as you're happier now, and will be happy with your new career, then that's all that matters. Becoming a social worker sounds like an excellent job c:

Also good luck with the move to California, I hope everything goes well and that you enjoy your new school much more :hug:

Yes;; it was a hard decision, but I think changing to social work will not only be better for my mental state, but will also allow me to help people directly (which is what I want to do in some way as a career). I have this bad habit of never wanting to give up, even when things are hard, so it took a long time to finally accept that what I was doing was not healthy for me. Fortunately everyone has been really supportive of my decision.

Yes...becoming a surgeon is so excessively overwhelming...like just getting into med school is a feat in itself and everything from that point on just adds to it, like it takes like a decade to even be an official doctor and surgeons even more so... But I think right now social work will be good for me. I was already really into sociology and psychology, along with medicine, but I didn't want to be a sociologist or a psychologist/psychiatrist, so with social work it's a combination of both, plus medical if I go in that direction too. So overall, it'll be perfect for me, I think uvu

Thank you! I hope everything goes well too.

That's completely understandable, I definitely wouldn't see it as giving up though. You'd have never known if that path was for you or not if you'd never given it a go in the first place. Even though you aren't working towards becoming a surgeon any more, it has been an important step in figuring out what is the best career for you c:

You're welcome, good luck with your new school!

That's true;; I guess I gave it my best shot while I was still able. And it's better to move on to a new goal than give up completely, like some people do ;u;

Most definitely, think of it as a crucial stepping stone to a career that's perfect for you - Something you had to do to figure out what you know now.
I imagine some people stop entirely and get stuck, not knowing what they want to do next, but you know what you want to do and you're going ahead and doing it and that's awesome : D
